Who owns Corus hotels?

Corus hotels (which is the trading name of Corus Hotels PLC) are owned by London Vista Hotel Limited, which is part of Malayan United Industries (MUI). The MUI Group is a diversified conglomerate headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. It has major and substantial interests in retailing, hotels, food and confectionery, property, construction, financial services, travel and tourism, educational services and information technology. Is Laura Ashley part of Corus hotels?

How many hotels does the group operate, and where are they?

There are over 40 hotels making up Corus hotels in Britain from Scotland down to the West Country and 2 in Malaysia.

What standard are Corus hotels?

We operate mid-market hotels, the majority having an AA 3* rating.

What is the average number of bedrooms in your hotels?

Our hotels have an average of 82 bedrooms per hotel. Hotels range from 45 to 390 rooms.

How many of your hotels offer meeting facilities?

Do Corus hotels offer a short breaks programme?

Yes - our Leisure Times brochure features a range of short breaks and holidays, including activity breaks, special breaks and Christmas and New Year packages. To request a brochure click here.

How many of your hotels offer leisure facilities?

17 of our group's hotels have leisure facilities on site.

Do any hotels provide golf?

Yes. We have one 18-hole and one nine-hole golf course within the group. The 18-hole course is located at The Tewkesbury Park Hotel, Golf & Country Club. The 9-hole course is at Hall Garth Golf & Country Club near Darlington. Click here for more information on our golf packages.

Who deals with customer complaints/comments?

What is The Restaurant Partnership?

The Restaurant Partnership owns and manages restaurant brands such as Simply Nico and Nico Central. It also owns a number of notable restaurants in London such as Elena's L'Etoile, The Gay Hussar and Thierry's. A controlling interest in The Restaurant Partnership was acquired by Corus Hotels PLC in 1998.

Why do I have to give my credit card/debit card details when I make a booking?

In order to secure your booking, your credit/debit card details are taken. However, your card will not be debited (unless you fail to cancel the booking and do not arrive at the hotel, in which case one night's accommodation price will be debited after the due date). Payment is made on departure from the hotel. You can pay using Access, Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, Switch, Delta, JC, Amex, DT, DC Diner Card, cash, personal cheque (with guarantee card), postal order or Corus Gift Vouchers. If you wish to pay by any other method we recommend you call the hotel in advance.

How secure is my booking?

Booking online through our site is completely safe. Security of our site is paramount and we have invested a great deal of time and money to ensure you can have the peace of mind that your details are secure. All details are encrypted. All pages in our online reservation system are handled securely and your credit card information will be encrypted.

This is typically indicated on your screen by a small padlock symbol; you may also be notified by a pop-up information box.

After you have checked availability for a property and have clicked on "Book online" the “Booking Details” reservation process is secure.

What if I need to cancel or amend my booking?

If you book your hotel online then you can cancel or amend it online. Please follow the instructions given in your booking confirmation. Cancellations/amendments can be made up to 24 hours prior to your stay.

Do you run an affiliate scheme?

Corus hotels operate a scheme through TradeDoubler allowing potential affiliates to display Corus hotels banners. For each accommodation booking gained through these banners we will pay £7.50. For more information click on the "Affiliates" link at the bottom of each page.
