Frequently Asked Questions

1. I am applying for more than one job, do I need to fill out a separate application form?
For every post advertised you must ensure that you complete a separate application form and provide us with a separate supporting information document. You can not use one application for to apply for more than one job.

2. Can you tell me if you have received my application?
Once we receive you application, we will send you an email to confirm receipt.

3. I have made some mistakes on my application form. How can I correct them?
Unfortunately, once you have submitted your application form, you cannot change your details.

If you have submitted an application in error, please contact recruitment@corushotels.com and we will remove your application from the vacancy.

4. Who should I provide as my references?
Your referees must be able to assess your suitability for the post.

One of your referees must be your line manager from your current or most recent employment. If you have just completed full-time education, an academic staff member familiar with your work could be used. Family members or personal friends should not be named as referees.

We will write to your referees as part of any conditional offer of employment made to you. Your employment is conditional to us receiving satisfactory references for you.

5. How long will I have to wait to find out if my application is successful?
Normally you will hear from us within six weeks if you have been short listed for interview. If you have not heard from us in this period then please assume that on this occasion your application has not progressed further.

6. Can you send me a paper application pack?
We would like to encourage you to apply online as this is quicker and faster as well as being environmentally friendly. However, if you would like a paper application pack then these are available from Recruitment, Corus Hotel Solihull, Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands, B90 4EB.

Please note that the information sent to you will be exactly the same as the information on our website. Please allow four working days for the information to arrive. All applications must be received by the closing date displayed on the job advert. Any late applications will not be put forward for short listing.

7. What is the Equal Opportunities Monitoring form use for?
Corus Hotel is an equal opportunity employer. The information gathered on the form is used to assist us in monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of our equal opportunities policy.

The information collected will be stored and processed in accordance with Data Protection legislation for the purpose of preparing statistical reporting.

The information will not be made available to the selection panel and will not, therefore, be used in any part of the recruitment decision making process.

8. Why do I have to fill in an application form?
All applicants are required to apply for vacancies by completing an application form. A CV may also be submitted to supplement the information provided in the application form.

Using an application form ensures that all applicants provide the information in the same format. This assists the selection panel to compare the applications more easily.
